1. Introduction

Welcome to AlarmBot. By accessing or using our service, including our website and browser extension, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service.

AlarmBot is a web tracking platform that allows you to monitor changes on web pages such as prices, stock availability, and content updates. Our service consists of a web dashboard and a browser extension that work together to provide seamless tracking capabilities.

2. Service Description

AlarmBot provides the following services:

  • Web Dashboard: A centralized platform to manage your tracked items, view change history, organize items into lists, and configure notification preferences.
  • Browser Extension: A companion extension for Chrome, Firefox, and other Chromium-based browsers that enables point-and-click selection of elements to track and performs background monitoring.
  • Local Processing: Our browser extension runs entirely on your device. All web page checking and monitoring occurs locally in your browser, not on remote servers. This ensures your browsing data stays private.

3. Account Terms

To use AlarmBot, you must create an account. When creating an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

You must be at least 13 years of age to use this service. If you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent to use AlarmBot.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use AlarmBot only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree NOT to:

  • Use the service for any commercial web scraping or data harvesting purposes
  • Violate the terms of service of any website you monitor
  • Use the service to collect personal information about third parties without consent
  • Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the service or servers
  • Use automated means to create accounts or use the service
  • Resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to the service
  • Use the service to engage in any illegal activities

Important: You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of AlarmBot complies with the terms of service of the websites you choose to monitor. We do not control and are not responsible for how third-party websites operate or their policies.

5. Browser Extension

Our browser extension requires certain permissions to function properly:

  • Storage: To store your tracked items and preferences locally
  • Tabs: To access and monitor web pages in background tabs
  • Notifications: To alert you when changes are detected

All monitoring and data processing happens locally on your device. The extension only syncs your track configurations (not the content of monitored pages) with our servers for cross-device synchronization. This sync occurs approximately every 30 minutes.

6. License Grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the AlarmBot service and browser extension for your personal, non-commercial purposes.

This license does not authorize you to modify, adapt, translate, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or create derivative works based on the Add-on. You may not transfer, sublicense, or assign this license to any third party.

7. Intellectual Property

The AlarmBot service and browser extension are protected as computer programs under applicable intellectual property laws, including international copyright, trademark, and software protection laws.

All rights to the Add-on belong to AlarmBot, with the exception of the rights explicitly granted under this license agreement. You retain ownership of any data you create or store through the service. You grant us a limited license to store and process this data solely for the purpose of providing the service to you and improving it.

8. Disclaimers

AlarmBot is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that:

  • The service will be available 24/7/365 or operate without interruption
  • All website changes will be detected — some changes may be missed due to website structure, timing, or technical limitations
  • The results obtained from using the service will be accurate, complete, or reliable
  • Any tracked element will continue to be detectable if a website changes its structure or layout
  • Notifications will be delivered instantaneously, on time, or at all
  • The extension will function correctly on all websites or browser configurations

Important: AlarmBot is a best-effort service. We are not responsible for any losses, damages, or costs arising from your use of the service or reliance on information obtained through the service, including but not limited to missed price drops, undetected changes, incorrect change detection, failed notifications, or service downtime.

8A. Change Detection

Change detection is provided on a best-effort basis and is not guaranteed; you should independently verify critical information.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AlarmBot and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses.

In no event shall our total liability to you for all claims exceed the amount you paid us (if any) in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us or using the account deletion feature in your settings. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the service at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe:

  • Violates these Terms or any applicable law
  • Is harmful to other users, third parties, or the service
  • Constitutes abusive or excessive use of the service

Upon termination, your right to use the service will immediately cease. Your data may be deleted according to our data retention policies.

11. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the service before the changes take effect. Your continued use of AlarmBot after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

We encourage you to review these Terms periodically to stay informed of any updates.

12. Dispute Resolution

In the event of any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the service, you and AlarmBot agree to first attempt to resolve the dispute through good-faith negotiation. If the dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation within thirty (30) days, either party may pursue formal legal remedies.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in the United Kingdom.
